Creating multiple ACF fields in WordPress can be time-consuming and even boring at times. But with ChatGPT, you can create as many ACF fields as you want in a matter of seconds using a prompt.
No extra plugins. And you don't have to link anything to anything.
You can do this with ChatGPT, Gemini, and other tools.
But in this tutorial I'll be using ChatGPT.
Here is exactly how to save time using ChatGPT to create your ACF fields.
When to Use this
There'll be time when you need a simple text or number field without any complex settings or logic.
But you have to create a lot of them, and sometimes for multiple websites.
Doing that manually in this day and age will be a complete waste of time and electricity.
Simply give it to ChatGPT.
Here is how to go about it.
How To Create Multiple ACF Fields Using ChatGPT
Say you're working on a Question and answer accordion. You have to create lots of items for Questions and the corresponding answer fields.
Maybe you want to display them on Elementor or some custom template you have.
With something like this you don't any complex logic for the fields. You need simple plain text areas for the items.
If you have 7 questions and corresponding 7 and answers, you have 14 fields to generate in total.
And if you have 3 website to work on, then you immediately have 42 items to create.
Just get ChatGPT to do it.
You don't need the pro version of either ChatGPT or ACF.
This will still work even when you're using the free versions.
Before you begin, ensure you have the ACF installed and activated.
Follow these steps.
Prompt ChatGPT to Get the Custom fields created
Visit ChatGPT at chatgpt.com
You can use a prompt like the one below:
"Please create json field group file for ACF. Nothing too extra. I just want 7 fields for question and answer. For a Q and A accordion. question1, answer1, question1, answer2, ... all the way to 7. 14 text fields in total. Questions will use the text field and answers will be using the text area field type"
Edit the text to match your needs.
The things you want to pay attention to are number of fields, field type and things like that.
It's all down to what you're trying to do.
Get ChatGPT to generate a JSON file
Once you've entered your customized prompt into ChatGPT, it will create the JSON you need to make a JSON.
Look through the JSON code to be sure it's on the right track.
If the text is okay, prompt it again so it creates a JSON file that you can download.
You can use something like the prompt below.
"Can you give me the json file. I could just download and use it"
ChatGPT will create a JSON file for you.
Download it and head over to your WordPress website.
Upload the JSON File to ACF
Now go to the ACF tab in WordPress.
Look for Tools and Select it: Dashboard >> ACF >> Tools
Scroll to the import area.
Choose the JSON file you just downloaded from ChatGPT and click on "import JSON"
In a matter of seconds the file is imported and your fields will all be automatically created.
Conclusion
This is an easy way to get things done.
You can also do this with Gemini or other top AI tools.
