Every single time you make a post to WordPress you'll likely have to optimize a bunch of images.
Squoosh.app makes it easy to do that.

But there is a feature on the Squoosh image optimization tool that makes things so much easier.
It allows you to paste an image you copied.
Not all image optimization tools allow this. For most tools, you have to upload or at least drag-drop.
Copy, Paste, Optimize
Unless you have a bulk image optimizer on WordPress, optimizing images can be daunting.
The task itself is simple.
But when you have bunch of other things to do, like internal linking, on-page SEO, and some other little things, it gets difficult.
So I decided to try a few things with Squoosh.
I discovered I could copy an image, paste it in Squoosh, optimize, resize, convert to WebP, download it, and drop it into WordPress.
Optimizing Screenshots
Where this copy, paste, optimize thing really makes sense is when you're optimizing a screenshot.
You can easily take a screenshot and drop it into the Squoosh app and optimize it for your website.
If you have Microsoft Paint or any other image tool, optimization of screenshots just got easier.
Here are the Steps:
- Firstly, take a screenshot. You can easily do this by pressing the prt sc button on your keyboard.
- Open paint, and drop the shot.
- Edit the image with the paint tool.
- Locate the Select all feature and use it to select your image as shown in the screenshot below.
- Locate the copy feature at top left corner of Paint.
- Visit Squoosh.app
- Paste the copied image.
- Here you can optimize, resize, and convert to WebP, all in one place.
- Download the optimized image and upload it to WordPress.
Why the Copy, Paste, Optimize Process is helpful
Truth is, at some point you'll have to optimize an image offsite.
Whether you're using WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or Blogger.
Screenshots, mostly, can make life difficult.
But with squoosh, you can simply paste your screeshot on the homepage and get going with the optimization.
If you have to edit the image, you can use paint.
Once you're done, you don't have to download and upload.
Simply use the copy feature at the top left corner of paint, copy the image, drop it in squoosh and get toing.
Download the optimized image and drag it into WordPress.
Life's easier that way.
Avoid Unnecessary Uploads
Another good thing about copying edited images to Squoosh is that it helps you avoid those intermediate downloads you have to do before finally uploading the image to an optimization tool like TinyPNG, Squoosh, or imgboost.
